Hearing Assessment for all ages:
We offer comprehensive hearing evaluations for children and adults. Our large sound proof booth and equipment offers flexibility to test children of any age. Our audiologists are trained and experienced in testing children and adults with a variety of hearing disorders.

A hearing evaluation is scheduled for one hour. The staff audiologist will review the hearing test results with you at the appointment as well as any recommendations.

We provide comprehensive hearing evaluations that include tympanograms and ototacoustic emmission testing to evaluate the middle ear system and cochlear function of the ears.

Our auditory processing evaluations include testing in a booth for specific auditory processing difficulties, receptive and expressive language skills and a variety of reading abilities. It is important to evaluate a variety of skills that can be affected by auditory processing disorders. An audiologist is the only professional qualified to diagnose auditory processing disorders. Suzanne Foley is one of the few audiologists in the state with expertise in testing and rehabilitation for the disorder.

Fast ForWord training program has helped thousands of children with language problems build their critical language skills. Fast ForWord is administered by professionals, trained and certified by Scientific Learning Corporation, the creators of Fast ForWord

Fast ForWord is an Internet and CD-ROM based training program for individuals with language and reading problems. The product of over 25 years of research in neuroscience and neuropsychology, the program represents a revolutionary approach to language problems. In an intensive series of adaptive, interactive exercises using acoustically processed speech sounds, the patented Fast ForWord technology stimulates rapid language skill development as clients learn to distinguish the various components of speech. As clients move into the more challenging levels of training, they develop enhanced phonological awareness. On average, children with language problems make 1.5 to 2 years of language gains after completion of the 4 to 8 week program.

Improvements include gains in language and reading skills, including auditory processing speed, working memory, phonological awareness, listening and reading comprehension, syntax, and grammar. As a result of this training, neural pathways for processing and understanding language are strengthened.

We offer audiological evaluations for children from the ages of six months through three years of age through the First Steps system. Our audiologist has over 15 years of experience in testing young children. Our occupational and physical therapists also offer First Steps services independently.

Hearing Aid Battery Sales:
We offer hearing aid batteries for sale in the following sizes: 4, 8 and 48 packs. We have a battery sale every fall and offer our batteries at a 20% discount!

Balance and Dizziness:
Vestibular Rehabilitation - We recommend the Balance Institute of Indiana for any dizziness or vestibular evaluations or therapy. They are located at 7440 N. Shadeland Avenue in Suite 130. Their phone number is 317-577-7333.

Hearing Aid Services:
We offer hearing aid services for children and adults. Our certified, state licensed audiologists provide comprehensive hearing evaluations, patient questionnaires and clinical interviews to determine the best possible hearing aid recommendation.

We work with many different manufacturers to obtain the most appropriate hearing aid for each client. These may include digital or programmable hearing aids that offer flexibility in the fitting and adjustments as well as improved speech understanding in quiet and noise.

We also work with the client and family members to improve communication beyond the hearing aid device. We discuss specific communication strategies in order to maximize the benefit of hearing aids. Some of these situations include using the telephone, tv and large group settings such as meetings and church.

All hearing aids are fit on a thirty day trial period, which is mandated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for the benefit of the consumer. This trial period allows the client to obtain a prescriptive, custom fit hearing aid to wear for the trial period. We meet with the client during that trial period to make any adjustments and discuss any challenges they are experiencing with the device or their hearing.

We also have an extensive follow up program that is included with each hearing aid purchase. We schedule six month clean and check appointments free of charge. During those appointments, we examine the client's ear canals for any wax or pathology requiring medical attention. We also provide a thorough cleaning of the hearing aids and complete an electroacoustic check of the hearing aid to make sure it is working up to the manufacturer's specification. We review the warranty status of the hearing aid and offer alternative loss and repair coverage if necessary.

We provide a battery sale in November and December that includes a 20% discount on our battery products. We send a quarterly newsletter to our hearing aid clients that updates them on any new technologies in hearing aids or assistive listening devices and includes educational materials on hearing loss and other auditory disorders.

We offer hearing aid repairs on any make and model of hearing aid through the original manufacturer or an all make laboratory. We offer a one year repair warranty on any device that is sent to a repair lab.

Assistive Listening Devices:
We offer a wide variety of Assistive Listening Devices for hearing-impaired individuals. These devices can be used in conjunction with hearing aids or without them. Telephone amplifiers,alerting devices for the phone, doorbell, smoke alarm and alarm clocks and TTY phones are some of the items that we provide.
Assistive listening devices improve communication in specific listening situations such as the phone, television and large group settings. There are demonstration models available at our clinic to review. Please call one of our audiologists if you have questions.

Occupational therapy helps individuals
with special needs to achieve greater
independence and enhances the quality of
their lives. Occupational therapists design
work, play, and self-care activities to improve
development and to prevent disability.

An occupational therapist is an allied health
professional. He/She has received a
baccalaureate or master's degree and is
state licensed. He/She has completed a study
and internship experience in the biological,
physical, medical, and behavioral sciences.

Pediatric Occupational therapists work with
children 18 months to 15 years of age.
They are specialists trained in the areas
of learning and developmental disabilities,
and in physical, emotional, and mental
impairments.

occupational therapy evaluations and
direct treatment in the areas of fine and gross
motor skills, play skills, hand functioning,
visual-perception, visual-motor skills, and
sensory perception.

We offer orthotics products for children, adolsecents and adults. Our physical therapist, Dale Turner, specializes in dealing with children with special challenges. Custom foot orthotics deliver boimechnical and accommodative support to help the foot function better, improve body alignment and restore ambulation.

Our pediatric physical therapist is trained to provide early intervention to infants, toddlers, and children with disorders that effect gross motor development, coordination, and orthopedic problems. These may be the result of prematurity, birth complications, or musculoskeletal disorders. Treatment focuses on improving muscle strength, balance, posture, range of motion and quality of movement. We also have specialists trained in sensory integration, craniosacral therapy, EEG and biofeedback.

We offer a multi-sensory reading program utilizes the Lindamood Bell tm programs including the LIPS and Visualizing and Verbalizing program.

Articulation/Phonological Disorders
We offer treatment for children and adults who have articulation or phonological disorders. Treatment is based on the client's individual needs. Parent and family involvement is encouraged to facilitate transfer of skills to the client's everyday environments.

Apraxia
Treatment focuses on improving the planning, sequencing, and coordination of motor movements for functional communication skills. The family is an important part of therapy.

Accent Reduction
This program is for non-native English speakers with a number of distortions in pronunciation who wish to improve their communication skills. This program consists of pre and post evaluations, 14 one-hour individual appointments, a workbook, as well as audiotapes for home use.

Language Literacy Groups
These groups consist of two clients who have language/learning disabilities. A multi-sensory approach is used (Lindamood Bell, Touch Phonics, etc.) in conjunction with language therapy techniques to assist the clients in achieving their maximum potential.

The sessions begin with an assessment that includes an interview with the student and parents. This assessment can identify a student's specific areas of weakness so that a plan can be developed. The sessions are for one hour, once a week, for six weeks at a minimum.
